Key diagnostic features

  • Age of presentation –  a rare lesion that mainly arises in young patients
  • Appearance - a central junctional naevus surrounded by concentric circles of darker and lighter pigmentation giving the lesion a rosette-like appearance. Lesions tend to be multiple

Management

  • The lesions are benign - excision with a 2 mm margin of normal skin is only needed if there is diagnostic uncertainty
